    APPETIZERS

    A1. Sambusa                            Seasoned lentils with onions and jalapeno stuffed in crusty roll (3) weekends only

     

    A2. Shorba                               Plain yogurt and cucumber soup with fresh mint and honey; served cold.

     

    A3. Katenya                             Spinach and cheese blended with spiced butter and cardamom, spread on Injera and rolled served with spicy yogurt sauce.

     

    A4. Kitfo                                  Ethiopian steak tartar from selected lean inside ground beef, seasoned with Kibbé (spiced butter), cardamom and Mitmita (powdered hot peppers) and served Tere (raw), Lublub (rare) or Tibs (well done).    

     

    VEGETARIAN ENTREES

    V1. Inqoudai                            Fresh sautéed mushrooms and yellow split peas seasoned in vegetable oil with garlic and ginger.

     

    V2. Mitin Shiro                        Roasted, powdered chick peas simmered in spiced butter with cinnamon and cloves, served in spicy Wot.    

     

    V3. Yemiser Wot                      Whole red lentils cooked in spicy Wot with garlic, cardamom and cloves.    

     

    V4. Yeater Kik Alitcha             Yellow split peas cooked in vegetable oil with onions, garlic and ginger.(mild)

     

    V5. Yeater Kik Wot                  Yellow split peas cooked in a spicy Wot with vegetable oil, garlic, cloves and cinnamon.    

     

    V6. Azifa                                  Cold lentils, tomatoes and jalapeno seasoned with ginger, garlic, olive oil and lemon juice.

     

    V7. Gomen                               Spinach cooked with onions, garlic and cardamom.

     

    V8. Kinche                               Ethiopian style wheat pilaf (cracked wheat) seasoned with Kibbé (spiced butter)

     

    V9. Tekil Gomen                     A mélange of cabbage, carrots and potatoes.

     

    V10. Fosolia                             String beans, onions and carrots cooked in vegetable oil and seasoned with ginger and garlic.

     

    V11. Timatim Fitfit                  Small pieces of Injera sautéed in jalapeno, onions, tomatoes, black pepper , salt, lemon juice and olive oil sauce, served cold.    

     

    V12. Zucchini                            Carrots, potatoes and zucchini simmered in tomato sauce with garlic and ginger. 

     

    ENTREES

    E1. Asa                                    Fish cut in cubes and sautéed in Ethiopian spiced butter (Kibbé) , seasoned with garlic, black pepper and lemon pepper (mild or spicy)

     

    E2. Doro Wot                          Chicken legs simmered in Berberé (red pepper Sauce), spiced butter and honey wine, seasoned with garlic, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.    

     

    E3. Minchet Abish                   Lean ground beef, seasoned with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and garlic, cooked delicately in Berberé sauce.    

     

    E4. Kitfo                                  Ethiopian steak tartar from selected lean inside round beef, seasoned with Kibbé (spiced butter), cardamom and Mitmita (powdered hot pepper). Served Tere (raw), Lublub (rare) or Tibs (well done).   

     

    E5. Shish-kebob                        Ethiopian style Kebob grilled to perfection with your choice of chicken breast or beef tenderloin marinated in wine, garlic, oregano and other spices, served on a bed of Kinche (v8) with spicy yogurt sauce.

     

    E6. Doro Tibs:                         Cubes of chicken breast stir-fried in Ethiopian spiced butter (Kibbé)  with onions and jalapeno; seasoned with garlic and black pepper (mild or spicy)    

     

    E7. Siga Tibs:                           Beef tenderloin stir-fried Ethiopian style with onions and jalapeno, seasoned with a touch of garlic and black pepper. (mild or spicy)    

     

    E8. Yebeg Wat                         Succulent pieces of lamb, slow cooked in mild sauce with spiced butter, onions, garlic and turmeric.  Served spicy or mild (Alitcha)    

     

    E9. Yesiga Wot                       Spicy beef stew made with chops of tender beef simmered in red-pepper sauce and seasoned butter, with our exotic spices added. (can also be prepared mildas Alitcha)    

     

    E10.Zilzil Tibs                         Strips of tender beef marinated in red wine red, pepper sauce, garlic, cardamom and other spices.

    Vegetarian-meat combo: your choice of two vegetarian entrees and one meat. E1 excluded
