    INFO & EVENTS

Martha Kebede came to the United States from Ethiopia 25 years ago and has worked as a server at such places as Atlanta Marriott and Sheraton Gateway hotels. Encouraged by her two children, Kebede recently opened Enat Ethiopia Cafe next door to Alfredo's Italian Restaurant.

Through her restaurant, Kebede is honoring her mother ("Enat" means mother), who was a "gracious hostess, great cook and influenced me in developing my passion for people, food and hospitality." Kebede prepares traditional Ethiopian dishes such as kifto (steak tartare with spices), chicken stew, injere, lega tibs (strip steak sautéed in butter with onions bell peppers, tomatoes and rosemary) and house-made cheese. Enat has a full bar.

Attached to the restaurant is an Ethiopian market, where Kebede sells videos, tea, clothes, baskets, food and other items — "a way to expose Americans to Ethiopian culture," says Kebede. . .>>more
