This lovely Ethiopian restaurant is a find! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and all seem to be natives (or descendents) of Ethiopia. The other restaurant-goers greet each other heartily and seem very happy to be there, which makes a visit to Abbay a very positive experience indeed. The atmosphere is otherwise intimate, romantic, and dark, although the tables are a little crowded in spots (it's a small restaurant).
The food is served on injera, an Ethiopian, spongy flatbread, and you eat it with your hands. No one vegetarian item stands out over another - I suggest you order the vegetarian sampler, which allows you to get a taste of everything at one meal. I believe that all items on the vegetarian menu are vegan, as well. Dinner for two costs about $20, drinks not included ..." >>more
